But then again, that’s kind of the point. I mean, after all, you’re reading this post aren’t you? Aren’t you? Even after being explicitly told not to?

But hey, you just couldn’t help yourself, could you? You wanted to know exactly why you shouldn’t read this post — why such an order would even be issued. There’s a million different ways to strategically try and get people to click on your PPC ads or subscribe to your e-mail list, but this method we’re talking about right now is definitely one of the best. Not to mention one of most entertaining.

Another strategy that’s closely related to this one is making whatever you’re selling incredibly mysterious or exclusive. If you’re trying to run a PPC campaign and get people to click-through to your teeth whitening landing page, you’re not going to get many clicks if you simply roll with a “Click here for everything you could ever want to know about teeth whitening!” pitch. That’s the easy-way out and is also ridiculously unimaginative.

On the other hand, creating a PPC ad suggesting a gateway to discover, “Why Your Teeth Will Never Be White And Are Rotting Away As We Speak”? Now you’re on the right track. I wouldn’t suggest using that as I just made it up off the top of my head, but hopefully it will get you in the right state-of-mind. You need to think outside of the box and ensure you don’t take the lazy, I-don’t-like-to-do-anything-that-takes-more-than-5-to-10-minutes way out.

You’re never going to make money that way. Nor will you probably ever feel fulfilled and satisfied with your affiliate marketing endeavors. And the latter is almost just as bad, believe it or not…
